Around 2002 though they looked to be on the up, they had some decent players, Dunn, Heskey (was effective), Dugarry, Savage (again effective). They finished mid table and bettered it the following season. Then they lost to Leeds and it all went downhill. Came back, won a trophy and are on a big decline now. |

They need a CM like Ramsey or Vidal.

Cesc would be a massive upgrade on anyone they've got in midfield. ...........Carrick.......Cesc.............. Nani.............Kagawa............Zaha ...........Sexy Dutch Bastard.......... Looks fine to me tbh. I'm sure Rooney will be off anyway. Not that I think he can play in midfield. |

Anyone heard the latest regarding Rooney?
Sky Sports are reporting that Chelsea have made a bid of 10m + Mata or Luiz for Rooney. United say they declined. But Chelsea have hit back and said the bid was only a monetary one. Seems like it's now turning into a war between United and Chelsea for Rooney. Quote:
Seems like this has got legs though. The hamstring injury, Rooney's leak to the press yesterday ( + ) and now a bid? |

That midfield would get absolutely destroyed Fluffy. Can't just put some names in a mix and hope it works. Ramsey would be a better signing for United (as a CM partner for Carrick) than Cesc.

Again, as opposed to a creaking Giggs and shitty arsed cunt Fletcher?
I don't see the problem with the mix of players, Carrick stays deep, Cesc is the all action centre mid and Kagawa pushes up. Nothing wrong with that midfield. Why would Ramsey be so much better? Scholes was a slow CAM as well, can't recall him being great at defending either yet he and Carrick were superb together Last edited by Cuthbert; 07-17-2013 at 02:39 PM. |

Come on man. I know you aren't stupid. Cesc is suddenly "all-action"? The guy barely defends and hardly adds anything other than pure creativity.
And Carrick was a physical specimen a few years back. Started slowing down -hence the need for a more dynamic partner - with Carrick adopting the "Scholes" role (never a CAM alongside Carrick, by the way). Ramsey has more energy, much better defender etc. That's what United need. Kagawa and Rooney are already World Class #10's, no need for another.

The last point is fair
And if you have a deeper lying CM, he generally tends to be the "passer" of the team in modern football. You play a more dynamic player ahead of them.
