i feel bad for the kids that don't 'get' footy. best sport in the world atm, in terms of magical moments there isn't anything like it.

Champions League and World Cup as well. not many sports that offer that type of competition, certainly none that do so on the same level.

Yeah but none of them wear ties.

FA Cup. Only competition where a team from the lowest division can harbour any sort of hope that they might beat a Prem one. And it happens more often than those who know nothing about football would think.

good point. actually, for that matter the league system in general. american sports are seriously lacking without any sort of promotion system from the lower leagues. it's a two sided issue i believe primarily because buying a sports team in america is now something you do as a way to acquire an asset, not because you actually care about the team. if you add the caviet that your team might just get demoted and see attendance, tv money, and merch sales dwindle, a lot of owners would back out. second of all the travel would be a bigger issue with the size of Canada and the United States. imagine a lower team having to travel from Vancouver to Florida for a game. not cheap.

regardless, it's potentially my favourite aspect of european football. especially when it leads to Palace and West Ham being relegated this year

I'm not happy over the Olympic Stadium thing (so I too would like West Ham relegated and playing in a quarter filled stadium). A billion pounds of tax payers money spent on a stadium they only planned to use for a few races for two weeks, to add to the 800 million they spend on Wembley which was also unnecessary. The money spent on London at the expense of the rest of the country is a joke. The Wembley thing really annoys me when I think about what happened with that.

hiring David Moyes as your last resort is hilarious. only thing better would've been getting Alan Pardew.

Northern Ireland are playing tonight. Home to Switzerland, win and then scrape a draw second leg.
