I had a so-so showing and ended up with 2 losses and then 2 wins. I just couldn't find my stride until late in the game.

The top US touring Pro's:

Ricky's top gun right now and thats amazing.

Also, my friend Tom made it into the Illinois Disc Golf HOF this year. Well deserved. He's put a lot of time and sweat into the local DG scene around here.

Every square inch of this place had something to look at, whether it was stalagmites/stalactites, dragons, skeletons, blood, guts, animatronic monsters, there was spooky **** everywhere. It's run by Dellwood and Hells Gate Haunted House. Hells Gate had purchased the 17 acres the haunted house sits on and have it setup for outdoor attractions too, like paintball and haunted hay rides.

We got out for a real round of DG afterwards at a local course. My first round of the year and I expected to be a little sore, but I've been doing daily morning light workouts since last September, so I was able to stave off any exertion. Looking forward to this season!
Gatekeeper Media did a nice write up on this:

Disc Golf and the Haunt Industry

They show a couple of pics of the hole setups, but the one with the pink BG doesn't really do that shot justice. You have a multi-colored neon spinning tube all around you and lasers pointing at you from the tee box... oh, and the tee box is made out of some kind of spongy stuff so your footing is awkward. Then there's the "Marksman" style chain position on the basket. Oy! One of many over-the-top hole layouts. I'm going again this Saturday.

I played my first club tags round last Sunday and didn't do too bad. I nabbed a CTP (Closest to the Pin) which was a brand new disc so I'm officially ahead of the game as far as investment this year. lol

Saw a dude on the ESPN tiktok throw a disc, he bounced off the ground through the trees and landed in the basket!

Some icons of the FPO:

I got out to a random dubs round over the weekend at a private course, and arrived to a scene of Gavin Rathbun putting on a bit of a clinic for some locals. Also, had the opportunity to meet Kacie Glade's little pooch, Daisy. Such a sweet little girl. Kacie's a local pro and I've only seen pics of Daisy through the years, so it was nice to finally be able give her some pets and scratches.

I mean, come on. Just look at that smile:

I couldn't find anything recent for Gavin, so this'll have to do:

The season is just getting started.

Daisy is adorable. What a sweet expression. I'm sure she appreciated the pets and scratches. Enjoy the upcoming DG season! Spring will be here before you know it.

My niece got a new puppy, a Yorkie named Blue, over the weekend. I'll be meeting him this weekend. He's already taken to flying through the air and is temporarily occupying a big playpen (poor quality video from my phone below).
