120 watt crate glx212

specs:
dual 12 inch speakers
three channel (clean, low gain, high gain) and a digital effects channel.
built in tuner....which tunes a quarter of a step off key so....lame.

Trauma 11-05-2005 08:36 PM

ClayManSteve 11-09-2005 05:01 PM

fender frontman 15b. with non working volume knob. I WIN!

im gonna get a fender rumble 100 tho.

phoenixflames 11-09-2005 08:27 PM

Behringer 300 watt head and 1-15" cab. I'm very happy with how it sounds and how loud it is. I also use a Boss GT-6B effects board for all my processing. Future expansions planned are a 4-10" cab and a straight power amp for more wattage.

Laces Out Dan! 11-09-2005 10:06 PM

I used to have a little Behringer amp

mosesandtherubberducky 11-11-2005 02:42 PM

I have a Crate Palomina (something like that) 30 watt tube, it sounds like a cheap vox. And one peddle thats a Visual Sound Dr. Jykll & Mr. Hyde (oh yeah)

David Frost 12-22-2005 11:09 PM

Marshall age Randall 200W Head, ran W/ Sunn0))) 1200S Reverb head(morely Channel Switcher) all through a Sunn0)) 1974 vertical 4x12 cabinet w/ Celestion greenbacks, and a shefield unmarked 4x12 cabinet stocked with Celestion greenbacks... and in my practice space/studio there is also a badass Orange AD-30 head, all retubed, with 2 orange 4x12's with Vintage 30's. Then a Peavy Supreme head ran through a shefield stocked randall (marshall) 4x12 and a peavy supreme 4x12. and a vintage Sunn0))) Stagemaster 2x12 combo. and everyone once in awhile we have a 5150 head floating around up here.

Marshall AVT 150 Half stack running a Big Muff Pi distortion pedal and a Crybaby wah...

half_baked87 12-23-2005 12:57 AM

yep, marshall AVT150H. i'm not big on pedals, specially with the kick ass distortion on the AVT. i think they degrade the sound a lot. but i do whip out the boss octaver once in a while for phat and phunky riffs.

Trauma 12-23-2005 01:32 AM

New amp****

For mah bday.

DONT DO IT. why? because it is cheap. you said it yourself. **** gear. marshall doesnt own randall anymore, carvin does. carvin sucks. if you are talking about the 200w head halfstack, the cabinet isnt rated for the head and it will blow if you play it at a loud volume (like it is intended). i bought the same package a few years back when it was still by randall and the cabinet **** out on me 3 times in a row! i finally restocked it with speakers that could handle it and it works fine now. but that cost me alot of money in shipping 3 times just to restock it. the head is pretty badass, but the carvin reissue they sell now is not as high quality. the footswitch cables are a lower grade, along with the wiring, making it alot buzzier than the old one, and the head distoriton on the carvin randall is just ****. save up one more paycheck and get a badass halfstack that will last you.

yeah the distortion variety is pretty awesome... i just use the big muff on the clean and the od1/od2 for metal so that i dont have to **** round with the eq... plus the big muff is like sex in a box....

And the band only uses sunnO))) amps.

Anyways what is a good half-stack that is fairly priced? It doesn't have to have a bunch of bells and wistles just some good volume and duribility.

yeah big muffs are the madnote. i did have a boss metalzone then i was playing through a solid state fender, but it was pretty weak. that one of the few things i don't like about the AVT, is that there isn't seperate EQ's for od1 and od2, and it doesnt have a contour control...

a b-52 100W halfstack is a good buy, and has a decent sound so i hear. nothing fancy though. if you want to spend a little more, i'd recommend a marshall VS100RH halfstack.

I don't know a lot about speaker placement but if you put the vocal monitors higher than your amps they should project more.

Dmp3s.co.uk 02-02-2006 05:59 AM

I have a Gemini X2 Amp.

Runs a set of 300 P/C Gemini GT 1502.

Nice n loud :)

Reggae Joe 02-07-2006 08:03 PM

Fender Ultimate Chorus combo amp w/ three-way footswitch. Solid state, 65 watts/channel, onboard delay, chorus, flange, and reverb. 2 12-inch Eminence speakers.

Excellent amp...it's taken a lot of punishment and road use, and always sounds good. For a solid, it's got surprisingly warm tone to it, especially on overdrive.

PerFeCTioNThrUSileNCe 02-07-2006 08:07 PM

^i believe my friend has that exact amp. great tone. overall great amp. could use a little more distortion on the gain channel, but i like that better than what ive got.
