Nothing fancy, but a major step-up from JVC earbuds.

Haha, I never knew Maxell made headphones. It's probably OEM with Maxell on it.
Love their tapes though

I've been a HD280 user for 3-4 years now. great cans for the price. my only complaint is that they can make your ears a bit sore after extended use(2+ hours). I have formed a habit of taking them off when I'm not listening to anything and I've been mostly fine.

I've been listening with a pair of Grado SR-60i for near a year now. They are fantastic for alot of the stuff I listen to. Blow most budget headphones out of the water as far as I'm concerned, they just look like they are from the 70s lol. Not that its a con, just a few funny looks on the bus once in awhile.

I use Sennheiser HD650's, great sounding phones, but you need a good amp to drive them. Also, removing the little piece of foam on the inside opens up the top end a little...and you have to make sure to replace the pads as when they wear down you don't to get a warmer duller sound as the phones get closer to your ears
