Exclamation Picking up a radio station

I am recording with a video camera and i am getting my sound through a sound board. The camera is picking up a radio station but the sound board does not. Can anyone help me with this?

I'm confused as to exactly how you have this thing set up... could you go into a bit more detail?

How would the camera have the necessary equipment to pick up a terrestrial (I'm assuming) radio station? And how well is it picking it up?

This setup is still confusing me. You're feeding audio from your microphones into your mixer that's feeding the signal to an audio input on your camera. I got that. Where does the hard drive come in? Are you recording from the camera with the sound and picture straight to a hard drive on a computer?

If so, have you tried recording to just the camera's memory and seeing if the radio signal is there?

correct it goes from the camera to the hard drive. I don't think my camera has a memory. It is a big professional camera.

It's hard to really single any one thing out without trying to bypass certain equipment piece by piece. In most cases, the issue will either be due to improper grounding and/or particular equipment being close to power sources with improper grounds.

Would it be possible to record some audio from your mixer directly into the computer, sans camera? Also, if possible, could you plug your camera's power source into another circuit separate from the computer and mixer's circuit?

try the most paranoid looking method out there. grab a bunch of foil and wrap it around the cable connections between your camera and soundboard. it's unsightly but it acts as an electro magnetic shield which should block out the radio signals from unsecured connections.

that, or you could just replace all your cables with higher priced shielded versions.
