Your voice is an instrument too (singer, blues, country, dance)

Does anyone sing as much as they play any other instrument? I play guitar every now and then, but i absolutely cherish my voice. Its like no matter where you are, if u dont have any drums to bang on when your mad, a guitar to play when your upset, your voice is always there. I think singing is more of a release than anything, so is playing any instrument ( and writing) but its more personal if you get what im saying, its your own unique sound and no one else has that sound.

Whenever I feel really ****ty... music always brings me up. I dont know about everyone else but whenever i jam to music.. i fukcin JAM like turn that sh*t up louuud. Ska usually works the best. and i just dance around my house singing loud. Its the greatest feeling. My dad goes out of town every weekend and every weekend i stop over there and use his house as my personal studio i guess you would say lol. i dont have any recording equipment so i cant record anything but i have a mic all that. I dunno theres just this unexplainable satisfaction i get from singing, it makes me feel great. Just the feeling of belting out when theres no other way to express your feelings, when theres no one to talk to.

What about you guys? or for everyone else that loves to sing? It doesnt necessarily have to be about singing it can be about any instrument too. Just wondering if anyone had any of the same feelings.. so start talking

im an awful singer, but i like what you said about "your voice being your own sound" cos what i play on guitar, anyone else can play identically. i listen to beatles a lot, almost constantly.

I sing a lot, all over the place. Sometimes I scare people in the toilets here because I walk in singing, carry on singing while using the facilities and then walk out singing. Its very difficult not to - the acoustics in there are too good to be left unused!

Being able to sing well is a great thing, not least because if you have a naturally good, responsive voice then its like learning to play guitar on a £2000 vintage Les Paul with a big ol' stack when everybody else can only get their hands on brokendown rusty ukeleles. You can practise and learn different techniques and songs - how good it sounds in the end mostly depends on the instrument you were born with and depends very little on what microphone, amp or effect you might want to put onto it - not the case with guitars or keyboards.

Hooray for singing. If you can't sing then learn to sing. Teach yourself. No excuses.

And it feels really good. Maybe this depends on how well you can sing, as it might not feel so good if what is coming out sounds like a constipated frog. There are accents, lots of different tones and volumes you can make, all just by moving your stomach or mouth around.

Singing rules.

i sing more than most people write or read at time and always have y headphone on. if you think about it what sounds you make using youe mouth can be use as sound effects and also you control everything to do with your voice, yes i am a very proud vocalist with some very good skill, but my voice is not made for R&B,Blues,or Country.
it has its sound area in rock, pop, folk, classical area where it stays. so it depends on what you want to do with it.

i pretty much sing play piano 60/40 better at piano but i studied voice for about 7 yrs now i'm going into singing/playing my own music and trying to undue all of the brainwashing from studying strictly classical haha.....singing feels great-when it's right its just emotion and honesty....anyway there u go...and keep singing

i think guitar is pretty difficult... only cuz my hands arent always used to playing it. and my hands are small so its more difficult to hold down strings sometimes. singings always been pretty easy for me. its just the process of expanding your range thats tough (for me anyways).
