Not all mia strats are better. I have played many ****ty mia's that were blown away by a mim. I think a fender guitar is such a simple build that it really is just about finding that one guitar that you feel comfortable with.

Yeah, I've heard this from several others as well. That's why I'll probably hold off on all my guitar purchasing endeavors and go in the new pickup direction. I was thinking of fitting my strat with some lace sensors, but I really want a way to test them out before I actually buy the things.

I plan on saving up my $$$ this year for a Danelectro. It's time I got another guitar, and I'm sick of playing the same old entry level Epiphone.

I have only played one but those Highway one Hss strats seem pretty cool.

I have one more extra knob at the bottom. other than that it's pretty much the exact same.

Currently I am playing a 1978 Pre-EB Musicman Stingray bass, which I looove. The finish was white at one stage, but it has aged nicely to a cream. I definitely prefer the sound of the 2-band EQ on these old Stingrays, the new Ernie Ball Stingrays with the 3-band EQ just does not have the same warmth. But luckily they are still offer four string versions with the old school 2-band EQ. If anyone is looking to get a Stingray I would highly recommend choosing the 2-band EQ version, this is the Stingray sound on all the old funk records (Chic and the Brothers Johnson come to mind).

Some people say Stingrays are one-trick-ponies, which is not absolutely true. Just by changing the position of the right hand could provide you a nice variety of tones.

I am currently lusting after a nice Precision bass, love that flatwound string-and-rolled off tone sound, classic.

Yea I like it so much Im saving for the 72 reissue with the dual buckers. It looks amazing and has a strat style bridge. Im really liking these reissue Fenders with vintage specs.

I have played these and they sound much ballsier and definitely keep some of the twang. Granted I may replace the neck with another 69' neck because I enjoy playing on melting butter. I bet if looking you could find a cheap tremelo bridge on ebay as well.
