I don't have any of the instruments listed, but I've been playing clarinet for about 6 years now. I love the dark sound it can produce and. for me, is one of the most beautiful instruments.

Congratulations. Upon these 3 basic pieces of information I deduce you are older than the age of 12 but younger than 15, smoke weed and buy into all that 4:20 crap, and are more than likely a total ****.

On the contrary. I know everything I need to know about you my little angry man.

I know you're trying to get a rise out of us, and I know that I'm REALLY going to enjoy ripping apart everything you say and making you look like the idiot you clearly are.

Anything to say for yourself? I'm anxious to get started.

Because that of course makes a vast amount of difference. Sadly for you, I, Like god, do not play dice.

So lets review shall we? Your profile information is variations on 'STFU' throughout. Your signature proclaims a vested interest in an illegal plant generally associated with hippies, warm tropical regions, hemp, a mild state of intoxication, lazyness, heightened amusement, and which comes in many different varieties most of which are based around either resin or raw foliage.

The subculture surrounding this plant is home to many of the wastrels of our generation, bringing with it as it does a sense of profound intelligence and brotherhood when enjoyed with other users of similar interests. Side effects can include paranoia and in extreme or tainted quantities hallucination.

Your post history is roughly 50/50 split between insults and inane statements adding nothing to the chosen discussion and in many cases detracting from it.

Upon this information I deduced a basic, non-gender specific personality profile that only referenced your posession of male genitalia due to the relative prominence of that gender on the internet and also because your aggresiveness doesn't fit the established norms expected of a woman in modern society. Barring the possibility you were an anomaly I elected only to go with the more simple of the two option and to assume you were possesed of a penis, although, as female wrestler chyna proved with her sex tape, sometimes an assertion that you are a woman can be a far cry from the apparent (though not actual) truth, as I must admit its still possible for some such manly women fitting certain character traits you yourself have shown, to be all but hung like horses on account of their massive, grossly overdeveloped clitoris. Thus I put it to you I had no choice but to assume you were a man in light of the available evidence.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give the floor to my opponent.

And theres a difference between strong and belligerent, obtuse, and crass. For one thing, its a lot easier to feign hostility than to deal with accepting others. As for single, I can't say I'm surprised by anything except your decision to bring that gloriously irrelevant fact into the light.

Can't deny I'm nerdy though. Although I do prefer the term geek, because it implies less of a social disfigurement and thus fits me somewhat more accurately.

Its not trying hard at all. It comes pretty easily to me just because I'm reasonably good with english and I'm quite analytical. I've reduced people in debates down to nothing more than repeated insults before just by slowly destroying them under my inexorably advancing wall of logic. People apparently can't handle a guy capable of mercilessly picking apart each and every aspect of what someone is saying until theres nothing left.

The funnier part is when I continue to reduce down the insults until they're left so frustrated they can't do anything else.

As for thinking only of yourself...that will only get you so far I'm afraid.

I'm not being that sarcastic. It is after all, the lowest form of wit.

The attention I admit does please me to an extent, but moreso I enjoy the knowledge that in most situations an argument with me can only go one of 2 ways. I win, or I win by making the other person look an utter fool.

Of those, the latter is considerably more fun.

Also, despite the fact you have insulted a number of members of this forum including myself prior to this, I wan't referring to you in that post, but to other persons unlucky enough to have tried to engage me in debate when they didn't have a good analysis of the subject at hand.

I play guitar and bass.
I have a Washburn bx200, nothing fancy, but it does the trick and I'm not in a position to buy a better one at the moment.
My main guitar is an Epiphone Les Paul Standard, fitted with Seymour Duncans, sounds great!
My amp is a Line6 Spider III hd75, but I'm considering of saving money to buy a Marshall tube amp.

Here is my small collection.

http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/5756/cimg3426.jpg

From left to right:
Crate 15W Practice Amp
Fender Frontman 2x12 Reverb

Big Muff Pie Fuzz Box
Danelectro Overdrive Pedal
Rocktrock Classic Wah

2007 Telecaster Thinline 69' Reissue
J. Reynolds Single Bass (Year Unknown)
Seagull Entourage Mini Jumbo Rustic Acoutic (Year Unknown)
2003? Samick Royale
Austin Piece of **** Beater Travel Guitar

----------------------

I have some other pedals/older getars that arnt pictured for lazy reasons but my setup goes somehting like this currently (always changing):

The Thinline Tele->Rocktron Wah->Danelectro Overdrive->Big Muff->Frontman 2x12

http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/7721/cimg3429o.jpg

I never use the amp footswith or the dirty channel mainly because the amp sound absolutely amazing clean so all fuzz/distortion/effects are added before running through the clean channel. The amp actually has a spring reverb box so I dont feel the need for a reverb pedal. Soon ill probably get an orange Tiny Terror Head with a 4x12 Marshall Cab but for most of my playing I really enjoy this super reliable Fender 2x12 solid state. Sure it may not have that super pushed tone when being strained like a Blues or Reverb fender tube amp but instead its built like a rock is only 50 pounds and never has problems. I plan to keep this baby for a long time. People dont seem to realize the solid state in the year of 2010 has really come a long way and gives tubes a run for there money.

----------

http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/3012/cimg3427.jpg

Tis my new Thinline. Craftsmanship on this baby is incredible, I will no longer pre-judge any guitar coming out of the Mexico factory. Sounds great, looks great, and best of all the neck is extremely smooth and a perfect U shape like the '69 tele its modeled after. I am curious to try one of these guys made over in japan, and see if they have any differences in coil wind/tone. Im sure if you forked out a few thousand you could get a US one from the custom shop but personally I am no brand snob :) Hell, Tom Morello's main tele is one of the cheaper mim models from the mid 90's and that thing sounds epic.

-----------
The next project is to add a B5 bigsby on this baby!

Matt Hodge 04-24-2010 04:12 PM

As of right now, I have a black Ibanez bass, which is my true possession, but I used to be a crazy drum fanatic, and I have a Ludwig Starterkit drumset, and I have tore that thing up. I used to drum all of the time, but now I'm starting to get into bass, and it's working better than drums.

This is my go to pedal. No surprise since the whole reason I started playing at all was because of the guitars in Siamese Dream. Man I love me some big ass fuzz.

As for myself, I have a MIM Fender Strat and a Gibson SG played through a Marshall MG250dfx along with a whole array of BOSS pedals (and the Big Muff of course). This setup does what I need it to do. Once I get a better income I plan on investing in some recording equipment.

Thats funny because its part of the reason I got the Big Muff. I had read somewhere that Billy used almost all single coil guitars and that fuzz pedal o achieve that nirvana of fuzz.

Great minds think alike.

Btw, what kind of Sg do you have? i have wanted a special or standard for the longest time. Specials are a great deal, and they have everything except the inlays and finish.

I've got a cherry red standard. By far it is one of the sexiest guitars in existence, but I find myself picking up my strat far more often. The way the neck is shaped, for some reason, allows me to create these incredibly weird and unique chords. That then gets my creative juices flowing a lot more easily than with the SG. However, I absolutely love the SG's humbucking sound and it doesn't feel like you have a dead dear slung around your neck like other Gibsons (*cough* les paul *cough*), so if I hit a chord progression I really like and feel I need the extra bite I'll practice with the strat and move it to the SG.

In other words, that was a long way of saying that I'm a strat guy but I still love my SG and am very glad to have both guitars.

I am in agreement that a big part of the sg's draw is the weight. I am a big fan of Thinlines/Semi Hollow's though. That makes having a paul/tele styled guitar much easier on the shoulder. And then theres the Es-335 style which I pretty much only play sitting down (hail bb king)

Your lucky to have that Sg! Gogogog put a Bigsby on the bitch.

I'm with you on the semi hollows, man. I have a big problem with going for guitars that look cool over guitars I know suit my style more. I really want to replace my MIM with an American made strat, but this guitar has been calling my name:

Not all mia strats are better. I have played many ****ty mia's that were blown away by a mim. I think a fender guitar is such a simple build that it really is just about finding that one guitar that you feel comfortable with.

Yeah, I've heard this from several others as well. That's why I'll probably hold off on all my guitar purchasing endeavors and go in the new pickup direction. I was thinking of fitting my strat with some lace sensors, but I really want a way to test them out before I actually buy the things.

I'm extremely jealous. A Tele Thinline has been at the top of my wishlist for as long as I can remember. Add a Bigsby and I'm sure you won't be leaving your house for days at a time.

My Mind Sedate 05-03-2010 12:30 AM

Currently I am playing a 1978 Pre-EB Musicman Stingray bass, which I looove. The finish was white at one stage, but it has aged nicely to a cream. I definitely prefer the sound of the 2-band EQ on these old Stingrays, the new Ernie Ball Stingrays with the 3-band EQ just does not have the same warmth. But luckily they are still offer four string versions with the old school 2-band EQ. If anyone is looking to get a Stingray I would highly recommend choosing the 2-band EQ version, this is the Stingray sound on all the old funk records (Chic and the Brothers Johnson come to mind).

Some people say Stingrays are one-trick-ponies, which is not absolutely true. Just by changing the position of the right hand could provide you a nice variety of tones.

I am currently lusting after a nice Precision bass, love that flatwound string-and-rolled off tone sound, classic.

Yea I like it so much Im saving for the 72 reissue with the dual buckers. It looks amazing and has a strat style bridge. Im really liking these reissue Fenders with vintage specs.

I have played these and they sound much ballsier and definitely keep some of the twang. Granted I may replace the neck with another 69' neck because I enjoy playing on melting butter. I bet if looking you could find a cheap tremelo bridge on ebay as well.
