Decided I enjoyed bass so much that I'd splurge a little bit for an early birthday present. Traded in my Dean to take more than half off this little beauty.

Schecter Stiletto Extreme 4, for about $200 less than what it normally costs.

Ther are few things in this world that I love as much as my guitar.
She's a Cosmotone and she's like my twin soul.
She was born in the same year as I was, and given to me by my dad
Her name is "Alfine" and I think she cost a fortune,
but I love having her around
Don't really go far from home without her

My guitar of choice is a Fender Standard Strat (with some new pickups in). I used it to play in a hardcore band and it worked surprisingly well the bridge pickup cut through everything leaving a mush free sound which works so much better for punk than the standard high gain 'bucker sound.

My main guitar lately has been a cheapy Gibson Les Paul Melody Maker, 2011 version. Replaced the humbucker with a Dimarzio Tone Zone and it sounds really great. Simple set up, 1 humbucker and a volume knob.

Got it for under $300. Stock it sounded decent, but the clean tone was a little off. Found once I switched to the Dimarzio pickup, it sounded a lot better to me.

Only thing I would do different on it is to put the input on the bottom, the placement is kind of weird to get used to. Maybe move the humbucker up a small bit from the bridge.

But those are just nitpicking things... it plays and sounds great to me anyway.

Got a snare, next I need to invest in some wire brushes and a snare stand. Been playing it with pencils because my sticks are back at home.

Does anyone have problems with high-e string breakage on jaguars? I've been having that problem a lot lately.

Might be a bur on the bridge saddle or the nut. You'll need a small file and lightly give it a bit of attention. Maybe 4-5 scrapes back and forth, then put a new string on it. If it happens again give it a few more.

Not real sure if it's the actual problem but 95% of the time that's what it is.

Nah, it doesn't technically "break". They always unwind off the ball end for some reason. It's apparently pretty common for jaguar/jazzmaster owners. It has something to do with the vibrato system, but no one knows for sure WHY it actually happens. I was just wondering if there was anyone who had experience with this problem and the guitars themselves.

That's a head scratcher man. I have a J Bass but yeah, not the same problems. I'm not even gonna ask if you googled it.

Edit: What brand of strings you using?

Yeah, I see tons of threads relating to it, but not one clear answer as to what causes it.
