I'll make up my own thing here because im not learning any one song, but I have been very attuned to learning to play mobil instruments. Playing piano doesn't lend itself to fireside jams while camping.
As such for the better part of 5 years now im been (painfully) slowly learning guitar, but what I think is more fun, is harmonica. If you're ever in a network of acoustic players, it never hurts to learn this. Especially if you're looking to sing, the harmonica allows you to fill in gaps where normally you'd just be hanging out. Its easy enough to learn to play competently enough. I don't practice nearly enough, but im sure if I did, I'd be pretty good. As a side note, I stupidly bought an A, if you're getting a diatonic, get a C, it allows you to play with more normal chords and scales.
