Default Just found this site yesterday. My guitars.

Hi there,

Started playing guitar way back when I was 10 years old and my dad built his first guitar. Strange really cos he is a sax player. I guess saxophones are really hard to make. Anyway, it looked good when it was finished then he realized he didn't know how to play guitar and couldn't really test it out. So, he picked up G,C, and F which being a good dad he passed on to me..I just carried on from there and I've been playin now for 40 years.
For years I played bass in my dad's jazz band but when I play guitar I love reggae and African soukous style guitar.
Here's a wee pic of my guitars/basses.
Oh, and I play them all through a Bose L1 system which I think is amazin for what I'm doing. ( small bars and restaurants, pool parties...).

Gordon.

Whoops!
It refused to attach the image because I'm new and I don't have enough posts in yet.
Here's a list for the time being:

Dad made jumbo acoustic, (1969).
Dad made fretless bass, (1974).metallic blue
Hofner Verithin, cherry red, (1964).
Tacoma acoustic/electric bass, (2004).
Rogue $99.00 fretless bass, pretty good really, (2005).metallic black.
Greek Bouzouki, (similar to a large mandolin).
Patrick Eggle New York,( 1990).candy apple red.
Washburn 'Oscar Schmidt' delta blues semi acoustic, (2005). tobacco burst.
Wechter acoustic electric,(2004). gloss black.
Classical nylon strung acoustic electric, (2007).
Ibanez solid electric, not sure of model#. black/turquoise burst.
And last but not least. This is my favourite workhorse guitar:
Godin Solidac. (2005). ox blood gloss. This guitar has 3 great pickups and then piezos under the bridge. It has two outputs which means you can mix the acoustic output with another sound from the regular pickups. This allows for a real wide variety of tones and effects. I use it through a looper and effects pedal and then through the Bose L1.

I'll get the pic on here as soon as I'm allowed.

Gordon.

Mexican Tele that I modded by putting a Seymour Duncan mini humbucker pickup in the bridge. It really helps give my Tele a nice round sound, I really only use that pickup now because it's something of a... unique sound. Recently got out my Epiphone the other day and I forgot how nice it sounded, it was awesome cause I ended up getting it for $199 from Guitar Center because the guitar that I was originally after was fucked up and they were so embarrassed by it they gave me that one for the broken one's price.

so here's my stuff... first up a warwick sweet 15 combo bass amp. it keeps my low B from getting muddy and that's enough for me. solid clean low end tones, perfect for jamming with friends, incredibly light as well considering the size.

next is my bag of pedals (and my sexy left foot). this is just a cheap noname overnight suitcase with a retractable handle and wheels which makes it great for transportation.

and now onto the guitars (and my swanky chair hahaha). here's my samick 5 string fretless, in the background you can clearly see my marshall, don't let the size fool you, it's got oomph. the amp that it's stacked on is a traynor ts-140 (it's the 100lb-er).

You've got some nice gear, man.

**** man, I wish. I should be. No, our drummer actually flaked out on us, and we changed our name. And I just kind of lost interest in MB for a while.

Find a drummer. We had merch on the way when our drummer decided to bail, so there's a bit of investment capital right there. Our brother said he might be interested in playing with us again. We'll see.
Keep writing new songs. My brother (the guitarist) and I have actually completed the string work to a brand new song since the other guy quit.
Get our **** together (again) and hit the road. Play some shows. Have some ****in' fun.

that's the plan.
