Metal is awesome.

2. Do you listen to metal?

Yes
2a. [If yes] Why do you enjoy it?

Because its one of the more explorative genres out there in styles and musical ideas. Also because its strong energetic music that I can listen to when I want to get pumped.

3. Do you agree that heavy music makes it's listeners more prone to violent thoughts and/or actions? Why?

In a way, they might be more prone to violent thoughts due to the lyrical content but nothing beyond that.


4. Do you agree with the idea that anyone who watches violent music videos along with the violent song will become, themselves, more violent to them or others?

No. The music doesn't make people violent. When people going on killing sprees, it was because they were messed up already, not because of what they listen to.

5. Do you think that Marilyn Manson's music videos are too violently and sexually explicit?
no, its his right as an artist to showcase any images he wants in his music video.


6. If you pass a person on the street who is heavily tattooed and pierced and is wearing an all black outfit consiting mostly of studs/leather do you feel slightly intmidated?

I would definitely notice them but not really intimidated. Especially considering all the loser goth kids these days.

It's great.. well.. I only deal with Black Metal and some Death Metal (which are fantastic).

Black metal and maybe Death metal sometimes but not often

Its very atmosphere! I've always been fascinated by dark imagery and things of the like since I was a kid

Violent thoughts perhaps, but only violent people would act on them.

No because a violent person will be violent regardless of their music choice.

Art isn't safe. If you don't like them then don't watch them.

It's good music if you're in the right mood for it (for the most part anyways)

Sometimes, you just need something to throw away you're anger. Sometimes, You need music that isn't about how perfect the world is (it's not) but deals with the cons of this world. I mean, happy lyrics and happy music arn't necisarrily bad, but metal can just make you feel empowered to deal with the world. Plus, it can make you feel like you're just plain awesome no matter how stupid you really are (I have low self-esteem)

On a minor level, yes, maybe, but not on a major level. People who commit suicide, become killers etc. etc. because of metal are just plain ****ed up. If you've been getting angrier more because of metal, maybe you should cut down on it just a bit, but it doesn't have as much of an influence as some like to pretend

The video has no more influence then the song. See #3.

i've heard this style of play once before, so I can only assume it's a specific playing method, however I haven't heard it very much and am really curious what it would be called. originally I guessed that this was being played on just a guitar, but the more I listen to it the more it seems like it could possibly even be a different stringed instrument of some sort.

A friend mentioned Darkwave, could that be correct?

(I wouldn't say the first track, Feast, is representative for the album as a whole. Any of the other tracks would probably give a better hint.)

I recorded this album but I have absolutely no idéa what genre it would go under. Not because I imagine it as particularly hard to categorize, just cause I suck at music genres.

personally, no.

absolutely not, if anything i think it's easier for a good musician to come from a poorer economic background as they'll have less distractions from their instrument. they'll likely know how to make the most of what they have and won't get suckered into the bogus idea of 'needing' that next fancy piece of gear to sound 'good'.

3. Can a poor musician who attains fame and fortune remain “true” to his roots?

depends on whether or not they've learned humility before entering the spotlight.
