The oud is something I would really like to be able to play. Being that I'm mainly a guitar player I'm pretty used to fretted instruments, so it will be a challenge. Also, the idea of using microtonal scales seems like it would be able to break up the monotony of playing a guitar that's only cable of using the chromatic scale.
The tanpura also seems like a great instrument to have and play. I don't plan on taking it to bonfires or anything, that's pretty lame and poseurish. The prospect of being able to gently tap three stings for hours while I zone out seems kind of relaxing.
The harmonium is probably the only keyboard instrument I'd ever learn and again, it seems like an interesting and unusual instrument to have and play. Being similar to accordion as it uses air to pass through the free-reeds resulting in sound.
