Where/what to buy, Guitar stuff (drum, bass, rock, single)

I've decided that I want to buy a guitar. I've never had one of my own because I've usually just screwed around with my friends' guitars. I've been a keyboard/piano player for about 10 years, and I used to play the sax for 5 years. Now, I'm thinking of trying out guitars. I don't have a lot of cash to spare so I'm probably going to get a cheap bender. I need your help telling me which other accessories I need to buy with the guitar.

Help will be appreciated.

The cheapest way to go is an acoustic. Not only are they generaly cheaper than electrics, but you also save money since you don't have to buy and amp. Learning wise the strings on an electric are thinner and easier to manipulate. I personaly started with a bass because there's less strings. Then electric, then acoustic.

As far as accesories go you're going to want some sort of gig bag or case, gig bags being cheaper, no matter which type you choose. also for a beginner you'd want to go for a low watt amp because they're cheaper. get the highest wattage you can afford because you may eventualy want to upgrade for a louder sound. Also the obvious guitar cords.

As far as additional stuff goes, it really depends on the type of music you want to play. such as a distortion petal for rock, ect.

for electric I'd go with a fender squire, it's certainly not the best but it gets the job done.

as I've said depending on how much you want to invest the best Idea is to start at the begining and upgrade.

i myself like the fender squires but im a drum guy so... yeah but take lewiscodes advice and buy a acoustic first i have a ukelele or some sort of small guitar but the acoustics are harder to learn on but youll find it very easy to play electric if youve learned on the acoustic and if you want a wah wah pedal you can get a crybaby for 90 bucks

cool guitar. tip about that kinda guitar: the buzzing you hear when you turn up the volume and distortion is just the, um....natural side-effect of a single-coil pick-up. to remedy the buzzing, switch to either the 2nd or 4th position with your pick-up swither thing, above the knobs.

but yeah, great choice for starting guitarist.
