All I'll say is learn to tune not just by the machine but also learn to use your ear

Some guitars have a built-in tuner now. Otherwise, download a tuner app for your phone!

I have very good ears but I just can't beat the precision of a machine
it's very important to train your ears too, though - especially if you want to jam with people

edit: one thing I like to do is tune by ear and then check with a tuner how correct I was.
it can be a learning tool too, not just the cheat code :P
