Getting an 8 string was fun and interesting, and I learned some small things about scale patterns on it, but It's not really comfortable.
I like using the lower strings for some stoner kind of power chord stuff though. When jamming some lead stuff I tend to play higher notes, and for chords I can't really use the 8 string anyways. So I never play the high and low strings at the same time. I really just have the 8 string to play the lower 3 strings So I was thinking of selling the 8 string and getting a baritone guitar instead. My questions are: - can I put thicker strings on the baritone and tune down to F#? - does it make any difference, am I just not used to the wider 8 string neck yet? thanks a lot. The guitars in question are a "Schecter Omen 8" and a "Chapman Guitars ML1 Mod Baritone" Last edited by Torben1; 12-18-2020 at 01:26 PM. |
