They're not absolutely terrible, just they are pretty overrated. I've downloaded some of their songs and most of them are just whiny, the scream (Call it what you will) isn't very defined, it's just like, a high pitched voice screaming/singing, though, but this is also in my opinion.

A lot of people put down Coheed simply because they do not like the singer's voice. Their musical talent and scope of their collective discography (in terms of their unique and ambitious nature) is nothing to discount.

I happen to like Coheed and Cambria. They are by no means my favorite band. I rarely search them out on my iPod and listen to them, but imagine if they had another singer (if that is, indeed, what bothers you about them) and then try and complain about the music. Listen to the song Light and the Glass and tell me it's bad music. What a gorgeous song.

I do not think they are Rush "rip offs" per se, but there is a similarity.

Soul, Style and Grit means nothing when your music sucks ass though.

Score one for The Beatles.

Yeah, thats my job baby.

And Coheed are awesome. But being a prog band with a nasally voiced singer makes you a rip off of Rush apparrently.

Coheed's vocals isn't what makes them "overrated or even a Rush imitation"

I don't even care about them vocals...I listen to them for everything else, lyrics, riffs/chords and solos.

I haven't listened to a lot of Coheed but what put me off
most about them was their vocals, so to me that is why
they are overrated. I doubt that I would like them that
much even if they had a better vocalist though, but as I
said I probably haven't listened to them enough to justify
that statement.

I just can't get into Coheed.

I don't dislike them or anything. I just can't seem to get any kind of vibe from there.

I guess the worst thing I could say about them is that I find them boring.

I can never vote for Nirvana being the most overrated band while Pearl Jam still exist.
