Ahkay?
You mention everything apart from the music, this shows that you have a false sense of judgement. All you had to do was post about the music, cut the crap.

There is only one to say about the greatness of Led Zeppelin - & I'm not going hide behind a "IMO"

I dont hide behind 'IMO', now I know its obvious that its my opinion but its just a polite way of putting your opinion across & considering others at the same time.
Just because you dont 'hide behind a IMO' when you mention the 'greatness' of Led Zeppelin doesnt make your statement either any more valid or invalid.

Antonio also pointed this out but, you totally contradict yourself by starting your post with 'In my opinion' and then go on to slate everyone (ultimately including yourself) who uses this term.

All you have prove here, is how hypocritical and narrow minded you are

Im not 'scared' if people want to challenge my opinion, but most normal open minded people would be able to respect others opinions and use 'IMO' not as a 'plea to not hassle me' but as a mark of respect for others opinions, which with the absence of facial expressions & body language on the internet could be perceived as rude and disrespectful (or trolling as they call it on here )

Yeah, well I thought long and hard about what I was about to say, and I knew I was going to face the Bruford/Squire pair as a challenge to my Bonham/Jones; if this was a game of Texas Hold 'em, I would call your bluff. I disqualified Chris Squire for being a "Lead Bass Player," as I see it he cancelled his Rythym Section membership when he started treating his Ric Bass like it was a Les Paul.

It's all about the music, man... in all seriousness, thats the truth! All the imagery, legend and whatever else means very little when compared to the body of work the artist or band leaves behind them... so I too, tend to disregard discussion about the "image" aspect of rock music... because its so damn vacuous and uninteresting to me... and pales into insognificance when you hear an amazing song which blows your head off...

Eh, just stating the obious before anyone else could. 'N........they ARE pretty good, despite all that other crud. Although I will be the first to admit "Stairway to Heaven" sucks unless its backwards....

But I don't know why I bother defending them. They have 200 times more money then all of us put together will ever have in our lives. Something like that.

it's not about how much money they have! it is about their music and just because you do not like something does it mean that it sucks! maybe its not your taste but stairway to heaven (although overplayed) needs to be respected even if you don't like it that much. its an amazingly well written, well recorded and performed song.

and this argument only applies to certain things, the legendary and influential stuff of the music world. the beatles, the stones, zeppelin, the who, etc. some of it isn't my taste either, i don't really care for it, BUT i respect it and its overwhelming importance
