It's terrible that he died. I wouldn't wish death on anyone (except Marc Almond) but I don't see what's been lost to the music world.
I doubt very much that he'd have recorded much more music, if any.

Fair enough, I havent said that myself. I think music consists of a hell of a lot more genres and musicians other than Michael Jackson. Even after all the greats are dead and gone, music will always be present. Still I think its ignorant not to recognise the impact he had, say in the 80s on pop music.

Who said they didn't recognise his contribution to music?

Hmm, I don't believe I said anything of the sort.

Anyway, I'm hoping he's on an island with Tupac right at this very moment.

And it wasn't me.

Mr Sensitive 06-26-2009 05:00 PM

Hmm, what a conundrum.

Im not targeting anybody in particular. Just making an observation.

Ah, jolly good.

You can rest easy, I wont take advantage of your sensitivity. ;)

He was a big star but a huge loss to music? I don't think so.... His last album was garbage and he didn't do much musically in the few years before it was released or after it. His life started to be less about his music and more about scandals. I don't think he was a huge loss. If he were in his prime, yeah, I could see that statement being true, but he wasn't in his prime and his music was overshadowed by his way of life.

He influenced a lot of people and once made great music. Sorry that he passed on but he wasn't a huge loss.
