Yeah I vaguely remembering hearing something like that a while back. Someone should do a tribute thread to him on here or something.

Heart attack? Weird.

I would have been less surprised if he died of listening to his own music.
(That one's for you, Darkest Hour.)
Most artists dont listen to their own music though. I would lol at the Darkest Hour comment but I have no idea what he listens to.

I've not heard this before...
Black men are something like twice as prone to heart problems. It's shocking for sure, but 50 isn't all that young for a black man to die from heart complications.

Really? Still, when you hear someone died aged 50, you still think they could have had another 10-20 years left.

Oh lord... I was just watching the news about MJ and the news guy said:
"Michael touched a lot of people in a lot of ways."

Rev. Sharpton is gonna be all over that.

I just posted this in the Pop/Michael Jackson thread...didn't realize there was this thread about his death.

RIP Michael Jackson. You may have turned into a weirdo and put out some less-than-listenable material at some point, but you were undoubtedly a pop icon and put out some true classics in your prime. Your music was among the first I remember liking as a child.

As mentioned by someone else, I also witnessed the world premiere of the BAD video on MTV, as well as Black & White and probably some others. This was already past his prime, but it was still a big deal. I was alive for some of the better ones like Billie Jean and Thriller but don't remember the premieres.

Anyway, this is quite shocking news.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Well, you'll just have to keep it as a collectable as somehow selling it isn't exactly an option...
As for Jazz, I dont see the comparison to MJ.

I would just like to say, I was a huge fan and am deeply saddened by the situation. Arguably the greatest american performer the world has ever known. Gave us years of great pop/rock music. He will be missed.

I've seen lesser things for sale on Ebay.

Btw... "all that jazz" is an expression. It's not really anything to do with actual Jazz in that context.
