Yep, saint.ives, that's what I like most about MusicBanter's sexy, benevolent dictatorship: the moderators can take criticism and often welcome and respond to it maturely. The strongest governments are those that invite criticism of their actions.

I can't help but notice, though, that two of the MB moderators with whom I most liked to argue about how they moderated have since given up their crowns. :( That's a shame, but on the positive side I guess this means...

Woo hoo!! You ban-happy mods can definitely make up for it by revealing all in a calender.

Maybe you can include information about whom you banned, and why, to up your sex-appeal by flaunting your power. Then you can sell the calender and people like Dirty will buy it to find out why people got banned.

Or maybe he'll just buy it for the pictures. ;)

I have a macro, triggered via midi notes that I play on my synth. It only works when I play the first 10 notes of a certain Queen song.

Just throw up some foam mate. Really any kind of the right thickness will do.

It's Auralex foam panels. To be honest, I just threw them up there because I recently got a bunch of gear out of storage (some of what's pictured in the photo) and I don't really have a lot of space in my apartment, so everything I could set up or stick to a wall, I did.

Those particular foam panels are just good for higher freq reverberation and flutter echoes. They do absolutely nothing for lower freqs and standing waves, as they're nowhere near dense enough for any kind of absorption it would take. They're also not set up properly. Whether they're effective or not in my setup is debatable... As you can see, my desk is improperly in a corner, which is a huge no-no in regards to my speakers. The speakers themselves are too close together, and my listening position isn't correct. And the rest of the room isn't very acoustic-friendly either. All of this is because of space limitations, but it's not really a problem for my current usage, which is minimal.

The real fun will start when I get a house and convert one of the rooms to a studio. And I'll finally be able to set up my drums. :D

Standing waves are my problem.
I should add some weight to my ceiling to get rid of the problem, but that is easier said than done...
