I feel like not impersonating a mod...or anyone, for that matter...is something that should be fairly common sense. In fact, something like that should have been implied in the rules as they were. Instead, we had to spell it out.

Well yes it should be common sense but we are talking about a chatroom only a handful of users bother with that isn't an official part of the site.
I can understand exactly why people might think the rules of the forum wouldn't apply there and things could me more loose.

I've been a mod, I know that most bannings are never down to just one thing. I just think having some mods come out & say it was because of that he was banned was a mistake. Just say he was banned for trolling and that from now on the rules in the chatroom are going to be tighter and you would have never had this clusterfuck going on now.

I completely agree with you. You have to understand, each mod has a different idea of what is appropriate to tell and what isn't. A certain level of discretion is preferred just because it might actually be embarrassing to the person who was banned. I'm not saying this is the case with Dirty, but we want to at least try to be consistent. Obviously, that is harder than it sounds.

I think that's what we were going for initially. I even think this would have worked if it wasn't someone with a reputation like Dirty. Oh well, it happened.

Somebody ****ing listen to an album club album, review an album, resurrect a dead thread with criminally low replies, or write a freaking journal. One month without Dirty isn't the end of the world.

Alright?

This is a ****ing music site not gossip central, and Dirty is NOT Nelson Mendela.

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.
Al Pacino = God

I can definitely understand that, and thank you for this explanation and for being so polite.

I'd like to have said that. But everyone seems to be desperate for information regarding his banning. Giving them any insight at all was a mistake I see, and unless we as a group decide to make bannings public, I personally won't be sharing any information regarding bannings in the future. The problem is Dirty was banned for several reasons and every mod seems to have shared a different detail, crafting a rather obscure picture that you wouldn't comprehend unless you were in the Mod Cave when it transpired.

I'm not angry at anyone who PM'd me and asked why Dirty was banned. From now on however, don't ask me about any bannings. All you'll get is the principle they broke and nothing else.

I agree with everything you've said here. That's why I have always been against it when people want the reasons for bannings listed, it's never always that clear cut.

For some reason a lot of members don't seem to understand it can be for an accumulation of things rather than the last thing to happen, so then you get all these tedious posts going whaa whaa whaa so & so does this & wasn't banned, whaa whaa whaa I suppose you're going to ban everybody who says that now whaa whaa whaa you're being power mad because you don't like him whaa whaa whaa so on & so on.

Nobody needs to go into detail, he acted like a prick & got banned. That's all that anybody needs to know.

I hope DJChameleon doesn't get banned. He's trying to pass himself off as some guy named "Andrei" on my facebook. Everyone knows it's him!

Mostly though guitar, I just found it funny you would quote Urban about getting a life and then, as per your usual, go on multiple paragraph long tangents about why the mods are Gods at decision making, using your all-knowing logic. I think you just post in this thread to win arguments that no one cares about, feeding your ego. Maybe I'm wrong though.

If the mods are going to explain why, they should probably communicate, so that they know the actual answer. Like I don't normally give too much of a ****, but now everyone's giving different reasons. The initial reason everyone thought wasn't even why, there's so much more to it.
If pretending to be someone else is an offense, that shouldn't be the reason he was banned because the other things he did were 1 million times worse. I'm sure Vanilla is over it.
