But to your post, (I may not be 100% correct about this) I believe the infraction Brennan (TheBig3) is speaking of was given to him recently, as a joke, for reasons of "not posting enough". The joke, I assume, was meant to playfully tell him he should post more because the infractor enjoys his posts.
Again, I'm only assuming that's what Brennan is referring to, but I can understand how it could upset someone if either it was misinterpreted, or the methods themselves were unappreciated.
yeah, no this is accurate. I'll explain myself but I'm almost certain I'm going to be seen as someone who's taking this too seriously.

I'm sure the infraction was meant as a light-hearted jab. I don't think Conan was trying to be malicious but the fact that its permanent rubs a raw nerve. From my perspective I bust my ass for this place, or at least I have over the course of my patronage. I can't tell you how much I'm out somewhere and I think "Oh man, i've gotta tell MB about this." or "I'll bet [poster X] would really enjoy this." Maybe thats sad, but I came here looking for people more engaged in music than any of the friends I knew, and I've stayed because I found it.

I'm easily put off. Its a flaw, I'll grant you, so rather than flip out, sometimes I just "take a walk" as it were. Lately I don't seem to be gaining traction with any of the posts I make, add to this the perception that what I do see being talked about tends to be flippant, sophomoric idiocy. I was less than thrilled since I will delete 5 posts before actually posting one. In other words, I try.

I take off rather than go ballistic in the shoutbox and what do I come back to? A ****ing irremovable infraction for not playing in these Dionysian reindeer games. I got a PM about it and I thought he'd just written it up to be funny. I laughed. Then I found out I've now been thrown in with the sort of class that can't handle their business on this site. To me, its something of a slap because I've been a poster here for a considerable time, I spent a number of years modding, and now I've got this. Its like MB herpes, and its not going away.

I had a friend of mine who was an Iraqi studying here say to me "you know, the war isn't a wound, its a jab. It just so happens to be a jab in an old wound, and so it appears to hurt less than it does." Is my issue with Conan or the infraction? No. My issue is when I see a site that I've invested myself in go off to Shenanigan-Land despite my best efforts, I feel ineffective and a worry about the sustained existence of the boards. I do my best not to meddle with the existing Mod team. There are plenty of times they do something and I think "WTF were they thinking?." To be fair, i'm sure they've said the same of some of my decisions. But this one struck the wrong chord with me, and I don't expect Conan to know where I'm coming from 9 out of 10 times; You're read my posts, I'm pretty sure no one knows where I'm coming from. But it is what it is, and thats how I'm coming at this.

And while I'd love to rip into Neopolitician, I think he/she/it just misread the tea leaves. No harm, no foul. I'm gunna go post youtube videos until my fingers bleed.

Oh well, you're not the only one with MB herpes, Brennan. Every time I click User CP, I see my expired 10 point infraction with the message "work on your thesis! Do it!". Of course it's my fault. I asked Yac for a temp ban .. But I didn't ask him to use 10 infraction points method to do it.

I'm forever tainted.

Hey Big3,

I'm so sorry I crossed the line with this one. It was meant to be a lighthearted jab, because I do enjoy your posts and I think I was giving you a hard time for not posting in 3 days (kind of like.. WHAT HAPPENED MAN? You get a life or something? Pffft.) I was pretty excited about the modship and I probably went a little overboard - I don't know. Maybe I just thought with you being a former mod and all you wouldn't think it to be a big deal since it obviously means nothing - no kind of serious warning or anything like that.. just a playful gesture. But I admit I did cross the line. And I was almost sure infractions could be removed. I actually thought I removed it... but I guess it's still showing up? I'm ready to do whatever I can to resolve this.

Well you can blow me?

Thats a joke. I'm fine. I feel better now that I've explained myself. And don't take it too hard. My herpes brother, Tore, almost strangled me with my own shoe strings because I deleted his journal once. No ones perfect.

OK never mind what I've said because evidently it didn't apply to your situation. In a way I was trying to empathize what happen to you, I wasn't diminishing it in anyway. I don't know what you mean by MB going off in "Shenanigan-Land" but I've was always puzzled by MB, like where it is at. There are different kind of complaining, for instance you have legitimate issues, and I know I mention "mob rule" people complaining but it wasn't directed at you. It had to do more the way I see certain new members treated. And as far as people complaining that had nothing to do with you, but certain other posters that I've seen complain or take up issues with other posters.

Your avatar is creepy as ****. I think I shall have to take issue with this and complain.
