I'm making a list that will hopefully reach 50, maybe 100 (I doubt it) of my top post-rock, they'll be a bunch of ambient albums and albums that are just sort of post-rockin' thrown in. It isn't really strictly post-rock but fans should like it just the same.

After I wrap up the Crowquill 100 i'm going to post this list as well as say a few things about the album. It won't be anywhere near as extensive as the Crowquill 100 (i'm not going to do album covers) and probably just be one giant post maybe two. I may get a bit more in-depth on the top 10 albums, but yeah the list is a good length. I'll finish it up in about a week.

I'm kind of a post-rock virgin. I've never been able to get into godspeed, sigur ros, etc. I did however, stumble upon Milgram's Another One Buys the Dust, and I must say this album is quite stellar. Anyone want to recommend me anything along the lines of it for just getting into the genre (aka assume I haven't heard it, regardless if it's a flagship).

As the poets affirm <3

Their earlier stuff is better, check out I Want To Tell My Heart To You But I Cannot Say English

If you want to go obvious I would say listen to Tortoise, or at least their early cds, i'm quite fond of those. I like Kinski a fair amount as well, i'm unsure if they're known or not.

I will check them out.

Tortoise and UI represent the funky side of post-rock, which is why they rock.
