i like RBD, Belanova, RKM & Ken-Y and a bunch more but RBD is my all-time favorite!

yes you can't go wrong with juanes.
If you want to hear some Brazil (this is port. not spanish language though) you can check out the Buena Vista Social Club. Great music there.

You could check out El Sueno de Morfeo. THey have a poppy sound. If you like Juenes you'd prob like them.

Kalimba is another artist you might like. Sola male singer. I really want to say he's from Mexico butttt I'm not fully sure.

CHeck out Silvio Rodriguez. He is a kick ass guitarist/singer from Argentina. His song "Ojala" is really great. There is an awesome live version out there.

Also, Nelly Furtado uses Spanish in her songs at times.

Thats good enough for now.

If anybody knows of any good spanish-language SKA bands def. post that up because thats what I'm tryin to get into right now.

Buena Vista Social Club is Cuban. Brazil does Bossa Nova, Samba, and great percussion.

It should be noted in this topic, the music of northern Spain Luar Na Lubre,his compilation album "XV aniversario" is a masterpiece, Carlos Nuñez, Milladoiro, Evia...Celtic music in the. Spain is not only flamenco and rumba. Today ... there's a lot more music, with ancient roots and wonderful.

The last Spanish pop-rock, comes from the hand of El canto del loco, El Pescao, Daní Martin, Bunbury, El sueño de Morfeo, Amaral...the best for me today

Good assessment made by Zaqarbal, "Merlín y otras cantigas celtas" from our King Alfonso X, versions for Eduardo Paniagua and Jaime Muñoz, are expressions of the Middle Ages, in a contemporary version really formidable.

That's why we have two threads. At the Spanish-language music thread we talk about pop, rock, metal, rap, electronica and other International or Pan-Hispanic styles. This one focuses on specific music from Spain.

BTW, there's a lot of work to do here. Due to lack of time I haven't posted recently.

But we'll continue with the Middle Ages, and then with the Renaissance music. Also, we have to talk about music sung in Catalan, Galician and Basque languages. For the moment, here you are some Galician music (known for its Celtic roots): band Luar na Lubre.

For real, Silvio Rodriguez from Argentina? He is from Cuba and most of his songs are related to the cuban revolution. His genre is called Trova cubana, and he is, indeed, one of the most representative artists you can find out there.

Oh, and about the Ska band... The best is Ska-P, they are a Spanish Ska - Punk band, just amazing.
