I also really recommend the album "Genclik Ile Elele" by Mustafa Özkent, it's pretty much in the same vein.

One of the most famous old Turkish rock songs ever. And yes this is considered rock in Turkey. :D

^ That´s not a bad bit of soft rock, misspoptart - pretty gutsy and hard-hitting compared to Pink Floyd these days!

I´m not recommending that you explore Cengiz Coskuner´s entire and extensive discography - too much of it is too cheesy, and he is presented in a way that is unfashionable, even laughable, by today´s standards. None the less he has a great mellow tone to his guitar - what a pity that so few of his songs are instrumentals. Has this guy ever been dubbed the "Hank Marvin of Turkey" ? On the strength of this track alone, I think he should be:-

I like Şebnem Ferah. She is one of the best voices in Turkey. You definitely should listen her songs :) Enjoy.

PS response: Exactly, my user name is for Jean Paul Sartre. I like his writings. I have read my vernacular, in other words in Turkish language. His writings mostly translate to Turkish.

I've been here for 5 years, evet Turkçe konuşuyorum zaten! :) Yes, I work in the IT/media sector. The real reason I moved here was for the people, though :) I met some amazing Turkish people/families and I really fell in love with your way of life. You can see the kind of music I like in my other posts!
