It's actually not. The flag is never supposed to be used as a decoration, whether you have an American flag shirt, plate, or even a guitar. It all breaks flag etiquette and is un-American. Sorry, Tobe.

So is that the same with airlines and the USAF? I'm serious. Or is that not seen as decoration? And what about presidential and other campaigns? Not that anyone gives a **** about the Irish flag, but all I know about its etiquette is that it's not allowed to have it on a floor, ie part of a floor mosaic or carpet or tiles, as in, you can't walk on it. Or, presumably, piss or puke on it either.
****ing flags.

I believe putting it on planes is fine as I know flag patches on police, soldiers, and fire fighters is also acceptable, but it's a definite no no on political campaigns. They have "red, white, and blue bunting" for that.

Hmm. Never noticed that tbh. So you can say "Make America Great Again" but not use Old Glory on your posters? ****ing weird, innit? I can understand the desire not to denigrate the flag, like have it on coffee jars or condoms or what have you, but in an election campaign? I mean, everyone who's voting and everyone who's running is going to be American aren't they, so wtf? As Frownland would say, that's whack.

I'm honestly not sure of the specific restrictions, but I believe using the flag for election campaigns is supposed to be frowned upon. US flag etiquette is especially militant so yeah it's weird, but nobody really bothers with it or even knows about it.
