Peter Clatworthy: Dad scammed into paying £450 for PHOTO of Xbox One gets GIVEN console by store - Mirror Online

Rewarding an idiot ffs

Quote:

Despite the listing stating it was a photo of an Xbox One Day One edition console, Peter said he expected to receive the console as it was listed in the video games and consoles category on eBay.
Seller didn't even break any rules, he's been given his fucking money back despite the auction clearly stating that it was a photo. Didn't even message the seller to get confirmation just to be on the safe side for a 450 quid purchase.

This bellend should give that Xbox to a charity.

djchameleon 12-09-2013 08:19 AM

I don't know if it says it in that article but the "dad" is a 19 year old kid saying that he was buying the Xbox One for his son.

Yeah, you have a 2-3 year old that's going to be playing on an Xbox One. Come on dude.

'Fake' interpreter performs 'nonsense' sign language throughout Mandela memorial

Quote:

Footage from a South African news channel shows a sign language interpreter at Nelson Mandela's memorial who has been accused of making signs up.

The short clip also shows the South African Broadcasting Corporation's own deaf interpreter, who can be seen to be making different gestures to the signer at the Mandela memorial.

The man, who signed for a portion of the ceremony including Barack Obama's speech, was simply making up his own signs, say the Deaf Federation of South Africa. David Buxton, the CEO of the British Deaf Association, said the unindentified man, who was supposed to be signing in South African, was "waving his hands around but there was no meaning."

Mr Buxton said it was "childish hand gestures and clapping, it was as if he had never learnt a word of sign language in his life."

He said sign languages across the world share a similar structure and pattern, but his were just repetitive hand movements.

"It was hours of complete nonsense. He is clearly a fraud who wanted to stand on stage with big and important people. It's quite audacious if you think about it."
Holy crap.

Obviously this is all part of capitalism: people don't like a good or service so they don't buy it and if they feel offended by it they take extra steps to end its sale, but anyone who protests over something like that because they are that motivated by religion is irritating as all hell, whether they be abortion protesters or even atheists bitching about kids believing in Santa. Go **** off with your personal religious views and leave the rest of us alone.

Yeah, nothing wrong with threats of violence if these shopkeepers don't stop selling alcohol.

They aren't going after regular shopkeepers though. Only Muslim shopkeepers that are going against their own religion by selling alcohol. They should be ashamed of themselves.
