Lol that video is full of ****. He says that it is a false claim that Google manipulated search results in favor of Clinton, but Robert Epstein already proved that they did.

Florida Man Becomes Holocaust Denier High School Principal |
Welllll, the Holocaust is a little fishy. :p:
|
I definitely believe the Holocaust happened, but there is something peculiar about the Jews. I mean you strip an entire people of everything and 10 years later they have all the gold again.
|
I know that but pragmatically speaking the game continues with or without us. If we abstain completely that likely means living under the heel of another super power that replaces us.
|
Now that's ****ing nihilism. Acting morally is not in our best interest so we do not act morally? Why not just stop producing if we're going to settle for empty, robotic pragmatism?
|
The world is not a friendly place. Everyone is self interested.
|
Bro, if humankind were capable of living like that we wouldn't have invented religion. The human race is ****ing crazy with churches on every block cause we can't reconcile morality with pragmatism.
|
Capable of living like what? I don't understand you.
|
Capable of living off pure self-interest. You also have to have this convoluted, nonsensical concept called "morality" to convince people that life has meaning and value and purpose aside from their biological imperative.
|
Ooops.

1) You're instantly taking it to a philosophical level, but when I said "everyone is self interested" it was in the context of the discussion we were having, which is geopolitics. Every nation state has an agenda that is largely based around pursuing strategic interests for that nation state. 2) I believe that morality is a function of biology just like every other influence on human behavior. Also, the reason we have religion goes beyond morality. |
I don't think I made such a logical leap that you can't follow it without some pussyass evasion. Yes morality evolved to keep people from murdering, stealing, and being rude to each other for the sake of survivability. But the human mind is too complex for morality to stay so simplistic without seeing right through the illusion which is why morality became as convoluted as people are and evolved into things like religion and arcane honor codes and modernism and post-modernism.

This place hurts my ****ing head sometimes. WTF point are you folks trying to arrive at?
Humans were ****ed as soon as they learned the word "why". |
It's not an evasion, it's keeping the statement in context.
I was referring to the actions of nation States as we were having a discussion on American foreign policy. I wasn't saying that humans are incapable of altruism on an individual level. That's an important distinction to me. Since we evolved in tribes, we naturally have instincts for maintaining order within a society. We are far less biologically developed at maintaining order between different competing societies. That is why things that would be considered unforgivable within the tribe are tolerated when at war with a rival tribe. And again, morality is an aspect of religion and philosophy. One among many. Religion and philosophy are not derived from morality though. It is merely one source of insight among many. |

There are nice, normal, non-sociopathic people right here who are voicing opinions they think are just and good that influence public policy that result in horrors thousands of miles away and to view that as simply the way things are and always will be and thus we should just accept it is for those nice normal people to shed their nice normality and become unfeeling robots who under no circumstances will ever care about the consequences of their country's actions. Our nice normal people can be ****s but they still hope for a world where their opinions they voice to our leaders result in a better world for everyone and if we're not working towards that in some ****ing way we might as well give up this whole human experiment right now. |

Salvage it as you will.

I don't think you are fully recognizing how cut throat the world is
You say you can't make decisions from a distance that affect real people. The reality is, you can't not do that and still expect to compete and prosper. It's not as much of a choice as you present it. There is no global monopoly of force. Any weakness you present can (and probably will) be exploited by other players. |
Look, A.) the human race is **** and I'm well aware of this, B.) choice is fake news, C.) but if the human race is going to survive as a morally evolving species and not stagnate into a nihilistic race of morlocks who eventually come to finally realize that morality is a lie and they have no future as caring lifeforms then this whole realpolitik foreign policy schtick is not something to be embraced, it is to be seen as an existential enemy the same as nuclear weapons and global warming. I do not know how this is to be achieved but just accepting pragmatism is death. Like actual death at some point in the future. This is why I'm bringing up religion and convoluted morality and ****.
|
The impossibility of it all is why I’m both an anarchist and a fascist.

If you are unable to serve the "greater good", then serve yourself and those closest to you that you give two ****s about.
