Some of those are edited quotes, but can we agree that it's ridiculous to quote mine some idiots (yes, some of these are pretty legitimate comments) and attribute their opinions to a whole group of people? The idea that republicans don't care about rape might be the stupidest thing I have read on this forum.

Like I said I'm not talking about the sensible ones. I realize the party as a whole doesn't believe this but hivemind mentality is a thing.

I don't particularly care whether they're quotes from Republicans, Democrats, or members of the Compulsory Eating of Aspargus Party: anyone who makes a comment like that (and means it, more crucially) is scum. Simple.

I meant to say "pro-choice" in the post earlier.

So because it's not the most insane comment you've heard then it's okay to say that.

Or do you also believe that rape victims should make the best of a bad situation?

Argue against why I've said.

I mean, it's kinda tone deaf, but it's not like he's saying rape victims deserve to get raped or whatever. Maybe the rest of the speech would put that quote in worse context, but from just what I've heard it's more of a mildly eye rolling comment than anything.

Agreed. It's just as ill-informed as defining the left by hyperbolized perceptions of some college students.

Likely common knowledge to some, but this was novel and fascinating to me.

A feature about Zipf’s law, the Pareto Principle, the Principle of least effort, self-organized criticality, Hapax Legomenon, the learning/forgetting curve, and the least common word in the English language.
