I dunno. Having seen the video though I honestly can't fault the officers.

I don't know: I'm inclined for once to go with the Police here. If someone advances on you, shouting "Shoot me" and ignores repeated demands to drop the knife (even if it turns out later they don't have one and don't make that clear when shouted at) then what else are the cops to do? The mother says they should have not used lethal force, but in a situation like that surely as a cop you're in fear of your life, therefore the first reaction would be to shoot the suspect? Again, I don't know, but this seems a little clearer than the usual shooting an unarmed black kid...

It just depends on the cop. Most will just shoot someone that they know is committing suicide by cop but there are other officers that have been trained to recognize it and will take them down without lethal force.

You've got a belt full of non lethal ways to disarm a person. Use it.

My post wasn't about the law, it was about avoiding the police mistreating you, the best way to ensure this doesn't happen is to just do what they tell you.

If they're being dicks stay calm and sort it out when they let you go.

Resist arrest/fail to comply if you want but don't be surprised if it doesn't end well for you.
