I know what you mean. I just think the photographer was a dick. No reason for him to have taken the damn picture, or keep it. Just stirring the ****. Kind of stupid of her to capitalise on it though. I think it was harsh. They could have just asked her not to do that again. Firing her is a bit over the top I think. What about "the above is the personal opinion of one employee and does not reflect the position of the company as a whole"?

What a ****ing repulsive unimaginative spirit destroying ****hole. I’m surprised anyone can last a week there without committing suicide.

Yer wan has nice tits though. :D

This is why I think social media should be considered lawfully private by employers. People put stupid **** on there all the time and shouldn't feel like they're being spied upon, cause businesses straight up will spy upon you. They're basically strangers and shouldn't have access to what you do on your private time the same way stalkers shouldn't.

The photo only showed Ms Briskman from the back, unidentifiable, her left arm out and middle finger up.

It didn't take her long to realise that she was the person in the photo soon all over the internet and television.

She proudly posted it as her profile picture on her Facebook and Twitter pages.
She decided to out herself as the cyclist, the company honcho's decided her actions were inappropriate and she was an embarrassment to the organization, so they fired her.

Totally believable news story.

I'd be fired from my job if I was foolish enough to do the same thing.

I guess she’ll need to update this. She seems like a bit of a **** herself.

You need a stronger union.

Well if ESPN can fire you for being, um, outrageous (Curt Schilling comes to mind), I guess Akima can fire someone for being too liberal or whatever. It does give them something of a black eye though.

But the question is should they be able to

what good is freedom of expression if your employment can deny it on even your own time

Again, social media should be legally private and your employer should **** off.

Nah the photographer is 100% fine in this situation.
