It wasn't an entirely serious response. Still, what kind of punishment do you advocate?

I never said it was necessary. This thread asked if it was okay or not, and I'm saying it's an acceptable route to take in raising children because the process works alot of the time.

Children shouldn't be beaten up, however, if the situation calls for it, a slap is not unacceptable.

I think with todays kids. (I am definatly a prime example) They are going in and out of jail as if they were adults. They need to be slapped around. I've seen first hand. WOW. They are goign to put me in jail for 2 months I'll sit here think about how I can do it better. Kids need their little asses beat.

So you did not recieve corporal punishment when you were a kid?

By the way, I think we all need to acknowledge that there's more to good parenting than beating kids. It's not slap or jail. >.<

Tor the sad thing in America is. It's just that slap or jail. There is no off the hook. All of these inner city kids had no punishment by parents so the courts think they should do it. Judges are relentless. And no when I was younger I did not get much punishment. My dad left and it was only me my mom and brother. I realize now that a slap across the face or an ass beating would have done me real good. It has taken multiple lock ups to put my head the right way.

I thought that environment could play a factor or just the conditions under which you grow up besides the method of punishment. Perhaps even genes! Darnit, I now see I was wrong all the time, it's just the slaps that shape us.

Yeah and you know Tor over here this government is relentless. They sentenced an 11 year old to juvenile life ( DYS until 25 years old) For being with a 16 yeard old who killed someone. Guess how long the 16 year old got? I'm pretty sure the sentenced him to life without parol for acciedently killign someone. Now that is way to high of a punishment. But it all falls back onto the parents as they say.

You know my son is almost 17 now and I use beat him every day of his life up until I let him run off with his whorish mother to Ohio. I still interact with him occasionally though and I now realize just how permanent and damaging that abuse was.

I'm sorry man, I don't want to even try "debating" with you. You sound like carlos Mencia with his idiot "Beat the spoiled brats!" crap... Intelligent arguements have already been posted numorous times in this thread, you should try reading them. Your entire arguement can be contradicted by typing in "corporal punishment statistics" on google and clicking on a few links.
