It's just that Catholicism is a subset of Christianity. So it is rather confusing when you treat it as a completely separate entity.

I never said it was separate. I completely agree with it being a subset.

I think I've been brought up under similar circumstances and I think I know what you mean, but you expressed it wrong. You're a Christian because you believe that Christ was the son of God and is the way to your salvation, but you don't specifically follow any of the other rules and regulations that the various denominations adhere to. I believe Christianity encompasses all of those denominations as well as people who don't feel they belong to any particular church, as long as they believe in Jesus Christ as their savior.

Amen Adidasss. That is exactly what I mean. I don't really know how I didn't explain it right in the first place, but I know in my head what I mean, just don't necessarily get it out in words the same.

i had to break the news to my parents today that i thought Christianity was a load of hypocritical bullshit, that was fun.

i still don't ascribe to the agnostic stratification of beliefs, seems a little callous to me. i suppose i'm hovering in the apostasy region for the time being.
