Depression ranges in seriousness from mild, temporary episodes of sadness to severe, persistent depression. Clinical depression is the more severe form of depression, also known as major depression or major depressive disorder. It isn't the same as depression caused by a loss, such as the death of a loved one, or a medical condition, such as a thyroid disorder.

You're also the biggest hypocrite ever.

Issue #1: Suicide - too complex to explain with a couple of sentences.

Issue #2: Levels of Depression - Very easy to explain with a couple of sentences by the Mayo Clinic's definition.

Here's the Mayo's definition of Suicide. Funny, nothing about knee jerk reactions or it not being a choice.

Quote:

Suicidal thoughts have numerous causes. Most often, suicidal thoughts are the result of feeling like you can't cope when you're faced with what seems to be an overwhelming life situation. If you don't have hope for the future, you may mistakenly think suicide is a solution. You may experience a sort of tunnel vision, where in the middle of a crisis you believe suicide is the only way out.

There may also be a genetic link to suicide. People who complete suicide or who have suicidal thoughts or behavior are more likely to have a family history of suicide. While more research is needed to fully understand a possible genetic component, it's thought that there may be a genetic link to impulsive behavior that could contribute to suicidal tendencies.

It's so obvious that you have never bothered to even remotely research this at all outside of this tiny conversation. It's painfully obvious how ignorant you are. The irony here is that you didn't even explain the levels of depression.

Because she's (I think you're female? correct me if I'm wrong) implying that every level of depression can be explained in a couple of sentences, when they can't be, and then goes on to say that she did, when she didn't. That's why it's ironic.

DwnWthVwls 02-24-2015 05:26 PM

I'm sorry, I fail to see the irony of that.

I don't know if that's what "irony" means...

No. I said it's very easy to explain that there are many levels of depression.

I didn't say "Here are all of the levels of depression".

I'm a dude.

It's ironic because she thinks she has done something, when in actuality, the opposite is the case. She thinks that by looking an article, briefly, she understands depression, and is able to educate us on it, when in actuality she is misinterpreting and spreading misinformation. That is ironic, because she expects us to be educated, when in fact she is doing the opposite. I can't explain it anymore than that, tbh.
