No, no I'll get this one correct.

First I send out the invites. Set up the reservation. Then I show up that night and make sure I'm wearing coat-tails, and that everyone is having enough to eat and drink....

That'll ****ing show 'em.

I volunteer at a seniors home...war veterans in particular. All were in the canadian or british military. Pretty neat stories. As no wwi vets are left in canada, the majority are from wwii and korea.
Really cool building too, lots of pictures and memorabilia. Lots of big wigs in the military in now and then.

I have a hard time finding such an idiotic war interesting. I guess the only aspects I find interesting about it was the developing technology at the time, such as: tanks, airplanes, zeppelins, etc.

Well said ^
Although all wars are obviously idiotic by default, but I think he means there wasn't enough movie style action. I guess it's hard to glamorise trench warfare and mindless mass slaughter.

I'm being sarcastic btw! Apart from the well said bit.

Originally used for reconnaissance. In fact, using them for anything else was considered a war crime.
Wait, weren't zeppelins weren't used for bombing runs by the Germans? I remember a story where a group of zeppelins attempted to bomb Paris, and Britain for that matter.

Yes and it was considered a war crime. Ungentlemanly behaviour at best.
The use of submarines was also frowned on and it was the sinking of the Lusitania which had a strong influence on U.S. policy, joining the war against Germany a couple of years later.

Regarding zeppelins, you don't need a war to develop them. In fact, you don't even need the Germans:

You are of course correct to say that you don't need a war to develop the airship.
However, your example of Leonardo Torres Quevedo's airship and the claim that you don't need the Germans is misleading and incorrect...by about 8 years.

^ And that was by no means the first.
