Thirdly, and what a racist narrow minded sheep fellow such as yourself will blatantly ignore, is the fact that unskilled immigrants will only take jobs from unskilled citizens because they don't need to be paid as much.
Eh? I did say: ...there'd be more people with low skill levels competing for the same number of jobs. This would depress wages which are marginally above the minimum wage & make getting an entry level job harder. This would a disproportionately negative impact on minority (especially NAM) communities, as they tend to be the least educated.

Firstly, most people who came over here legally on a visa are probably not untrained. If it were cheap to enter the country, there would be no illegal immigration.
Eh? People who have skills (above a certain level) have no incentive to become illegals. Employers are willing to pay them above minimum wage, besides the penalties for performing these sorts of jobs without a proper license are generally quite stiff for both employer & the illegals.

Or are you trying to make a point that intentionally overstaying your legal welcome is not a form of illegal immigration?

lucifer_sam, I think it's more your attitude that's annoying people, rather than your political views.

Thanks, I'll bear that in mind the next time I decide to give a shit what other people here think of me.

Confidence is NOT arrogance.

Teehee, you got me good.

I was a little low on sleep when I wrote most of this crap (which is why it looks like it was written by a maniacal person), but I still stand by those convictions.

I swear my ego was never part of the equation...that's all I was trying to say.

Can't understand why anyone wouldn't like Ron Paul. The man is the most sensible candidate in this 2012 race.

Someone in my facebook news feed said a few hours ago:

"Ron Paul just got owned by Michelle Bachmann tonight"

Ughhh.

All I could say was "Boooooo"

I didn't watch any news or coverage today, but I seriously doubt that Ron Paul got owned by Bachmann on any issue. Sounds like someone is begging to be deleted from my "friends" list.

I know what you're talking about. I saw the debate. He did not get owned in any manner. Bachmann called one of his ideas "the most dangerous" she had ever heard, but he was not owned - although it seemed that way due to the audiences reaction. Ron Paul said he didn't blame Iran for wanting a nuclear weapon. That instantly drew some controversy. "Instantly" being the keyword there. Nobody really took time to think about what he said.

Basically what he was saying is: Look at Iran, it is surrounded by US military bases. Their neighbours Iraq and Afghanistan have already been invaded and occupied by the US and Israel (US's closest ally). America is itching for a war and is known to yield nuclear weapons. Would America - if put in a similar position - not consider nuclear armament a valid option for national security if the borders of Mexico and Canada were filled with Soviet military bases with nuclear missiles directed straight at US soil?

Here's a few good reasons why:
  • He believes "life begins at conception"
  • He opposes the Civil Rights act of 1964
  • He wants to end birthright citizenship
  • He believes in New World Order conspiracy theories, which, if you have any ****ing idea, is a big component of Christian fundamentalist and right-wing racist ideologies
  • which oh, I can't forget, he's a massive ****ing racist
  • and he opposes gay marriage, wants to make sodomy illegal, and deny federal funding to any organisation that suggest homosexual couplings are an acceptable lifestyle, in anyway

Do you need me to go on?
I mean, I can't see why anyone would LIKE Ron Paul.
