I've been reading constant critique of Obama over the past week or so, and for the most part, I still remain skeptical of his foreign policy or the nice guy "I appeal to all" boring statements he constantly churns out. I'm not really an American but would any of you (Americans) vote for Mitt Romney? He genuinely seems like someone who'd set the country back by 10 or so years. Pretty much most of his stance on stem cell research, gay rights, abortion and religion is contrasting to that of mine. His "god told me to become president" interviews and media releases annoys me to no end. Whilst those aren't the most crucial characteristics, his foreign policy lacks the grit and determination required to sustain the general 'exporter of democracy' which the US seems to have taken up.

The economy though is unknown territory to me (other than more and more of it being globalized and dependent on other countries). At least there's no talk of "austerity" there.

America went from a AAA credit rating to a AA credit rating because we refused to fund the national debt when the Republicans wanted to play chicken when it came time for Congress to approve paying it off because they wanted us to cut back on the budget.

No. Absolutely not, under any circumstances.

Well, I'd assume you support the republicans but would you still vote for Romney? Greece, Spain and Italy are in desperate needs. Is the US worse than that of the EU? (which is doomed to fail).

Why would you assume I support the Republicans??? Can't stand 'em. Bunch of racist, homophobic, small minded morons living in a libertarian fantasy world. Don't much like politicians in general, but at least Democrats can occasionally sound like they're not reading talking points. I think that Republican politicians aren't allowed to order lunch if it hasn't been approved by the party.

Ah, now you're talking, my colleague! Sh!t heads who are good-for-nothing basically.

Makes Clinton's "I eat brownies for presidency" a lot more viable...but Obama is still quite ahead of that.

lawl, how is the Republican Party racist or homophobic?

I cannot seem to recall much racial debates (which one would hope to have been obsolete by at least 2012...). But if Romney is marketing himself as "old fashioned" and is thus "justified" against same-sex marriage and civil unions (largely based on his religion), all I've got to say is a "fuck you" followed by a "fuck off".

Why you bother with such a convoluted 'if, then' statement is beyond me when a simple google search will reveal his campaigns stated position, which is:

Quote:

Marriage is more than a personally rewarding social custom. It is also critical for the well-being of a civilization. That is why it is so important to preserve traditional marriage – the joining together of one man and one woman. As president, Mitt will not only appoint an Attorney General who will defend the Defense of Marriage Act – a bipartisan law passed by Congress and signed by President Clinton – but he will also champion a Federal Marriage Amendment to the Constitution defining marriage as between one man and one woman.

Anyways, I was opposed to gay marriage, but your amazing rhetorical skills have changed my mind.
