This news item is quite amusing at a superficial level but actually carries a serious warning, not just for the US, but for any country that relies on counting votes by computer. Worth two mins of your life to click on the article's short embedded video imo :-

Indoctrination goes far beyond religion... people who teach their kids what to think instead of how to think are doing us all a huge disservice.
Cool video but the above is far more concerning to me than the hacking.

I took it to be a fun activity for kids - a challenge that might boost their self-esteem. I'm not sure that there was much indoctrination of children going on, even if the results of the challenge are subsequently used to make a political point.
Plus, from what I've read of natural-born hackers, they are pretty independently-minded and can think past indoctrination faster than most.

^ Yes, that line really stands out as something that the girl was obliged to say for the benefit of the report. I don't think an eleven-year-old would spontaneously say something like that, so to that limited extent you have a valid point, DWV.
