that's not necessarily true. as in, many muslims don't base their lives around islam. i grew up in a muslim community and i can tell you one thing, my brother and i for example... yes we called ourselves muslim but we didn't pray, my brother would still go out with girls, get drunk etc.
growing up in a muslim community.. i can tell you that not a lot of people actually practice islam the way it is supposed to be practiced. honestly most of the young muslims that i know don't even pray. my mom calls herself a muslim but she also doesn't pray (which is... the most basic thing in islam.) or wear hijab, and does things which would be considered wrong islamically.
its so funny to me when people think that most muslims are radical muslims or whatever. most muslims (that I know at least) don't even practice islam properly.
