That sounds familiar. I'm going to assume it was a DNC takedown, whereby someone makes a copyright claim and that person's video is taken down, regardless of whether or not the claim is valid. The person can appeal the claim, but in the meantime the person/corporation/whatever gets all the money from the video's ad revenue.

That's just Youtube, and it works like that across the board. I wouldn't at all be surprised if political candidates could find ways to say that someone who used a clip from one of their speeches in a video was violating some kind of copyright, but it's not a political conspiracy. Youtube just sucks.
