I thought cis was about gender?

If I'm correct it also refers to sexuality.

Nope, wrong. As the others have said, whether you're cisgender has nothing to do with whom you're attracted to. It's about your gender identity. If you were designated male at birth - as I'm pretty sure you were - and you self-identify as male, then you're cis.

You aren't.
What I always wondered. Is a trans woman attracted to trans men considered heterosexual? Is a trans woman attracted to cis men considered heterosexual?

Yes, because trans women are women and trans men are men.

(Provided that when you say "trans women" you really mean trans women, i.e. designated male at birth.)

That makes sense. What about the second one?

And shouldn't there actually be a trans/cis component to sexual orientation? I'm attracted to cis females, but not trans females.

(sorry Exo, i double posted)

I don't really believe you, but regardless, when we talk about sexual orientation we pretty much are just talking about what genders, if any, you're attracted to. Since "transgender" is not a gender (and nor is "transgender male" or "transgender female"), the label for your sexual orientation doesn't generally take gender identity into account.

Tell your average dude the chick he's bonering at is a tranny and see if he doesn't consider transgender relevant to sexuality.
