I got it now. Thanks for the info. Conservative Christians would hate the Beatitudes.

But often with many Conservative Christians, they often want you to believe that those are poor are always bad and rotten pigs. Also that they say that we should not really focus on poor people at all.

Good grief, so sensitive. Billions of people all over the world being given the same thing to repeat/read/whatever simultaneously strikes me as creepy, sorry for not feeling the same way you do. Not everyone does. Answer my questions or don't, it's no skin off my nose.

Daily mass has a two year cycle, odd/even years.
The Sunday mass has a three year cycle, A,B,& C.
The readings are read from a lectionary.

Religious orders have the Liturgy of the Hours, Prayers which consists of Psalms and hymns, which are said regularly. They aresaid eight times during the day @ 3, 6, 9, 12 both AM & PM, or basically every three hours. I am not sure how many of them a religious should say to fullfil their obligation. The mass and the Liturgy of the Hours make the public prayer life. They are said every hour, everyday around the world.

What a fun luxury to live that way. I guess that's part of the appeal of being part of the in-group.

Thanks! So are these cycles just something that evolved over the centuries or was there some specific time they were set in motion?

Kinda like parking in NYC during the winter?

Blessed are the cars that park on the right side of the road so the snow plows can operate properly.

Now that's precious. The people who knock on my door Sunday mornings say the same crap. I've taken to threatening them with thrown eggs if they don't get off of my property in 30 seconds. Works great.
