Then maybe you should. And opinions without discussion is boring as **** and who the **** cares.

What's the point? Are we suppose to care about trying to change each other's minds? I am discussing. But I'm not bending just for bendings sake.

It's just a cop out for when he's too lazy to back up his points.

This kinda says it all. The whole point of debate is to flesh out ideas and potentially change your mind. If you go into it without the remotest openness to having your own beliefs challenged, what's the point?

A discussion is not two people spewing what they think and completely ignoring each others thoughts. No one is asking you to change your opinions or change theirs, we just want your reasoning which you seldom give (in my experience).

TO ME, you continuously come off as a Trump apologist/deflector.

Completely fine by me if you don't see it that way.

Step up your game - it's been over 10 posts since you blamed something on Obama in order to deflect Trump criticism.

Oh spare me the wannabe judgement bullox. I asked you a basic question almost two pages ago that you ignored. And your adverseness to Vice is a huge head scratcher as well: they're about as liberal as it gets. I don't agree with a lot of their columnists, but they certainly put way more work into their content than HuffPost and their ilk.

This is what I said after your initial response:

Quote:

The stimulus package came at the tail-end of the Bush administration. Obama had the opportunity to build on it and failed miserably. There are countless people who have still not recovered from that disaster. What has Trump done in his first one hundred days that even remotely compares to that?
You had nothing to say to that because all you can speak from is personal experience and write off the 9.3 other million who lost everything. People who lost their homes and all their savings, not just their jobs. Bush's policies led to the recession, but the stimulus package was his administration's work as well. Obama merely gave it a thumbs up and then went to play golf. Trump is a lummox, but at least he isn't playing golf in the middle of an international housing crisis. He has an entire host of other problems of course, but that's outside the scope of what I was talking about.

One of the reasons I voted for Obama originally was because he acted like he wanted to take on Wall-Street: he dropped that ball hard and it didn't even take 100 days for him to do so. But what did the mainstream media (sans Fox News) do at the time? Coddle him of course. "Yay first black president!! Who cares about all that other stuff! Woohoo!!"

What you need to understand is that Trump is necessary for the next four years. That's not being an apologist: that's the big picture. He's the wake-up call the Democratic Party needs. Next time they'll shoot for somebody like Sanders as their primary candidate and maybe develop a message that will energize the independents as well. And that way maybe there's a slim chance I don't have to sit through another decade of lies from either party.

AGAIN!!!!!! I'm not debating. I'm not trying to change anyone's outlook or have mine changed. I'm too old for that ****. Live 57 years and then get back to me about a flexible mindset.

We're talking politics here - not whether or not dogs should be allowed on restaurant patios or some other stupid ****.

Is there a Music Banter rule in regards to going into every discussion with a completely open mind that's willing to flip flop based on another member's viewpoint?

I've been here a few years and never seen it happen. Don't dump that prerequisite at my doorstep. :nono:
