Yeah but the Iranians you meet outside of Iran often are people who escaped the wrath of the Iranian revolution. And those people tend to be people who suffered on account of their moderate beliefs so they’re more likely to express disillusionment with the faith altogether than immigrants from other Muslim countries.

Like in Florida every Cuban you meet hates Castro and communism but the people who felt like they were treated unfairly by Castro are the same ones who defected.

The typical Iranian immigrant suffered hella more than those Cubans did.
