already happening on the cyber level and also with the china trying to take over in the spratly islands, the US isnt going to be flying any flags up when they float by for them and will be flying in what china calls there air space.just my opinion though.

as to how far each side takes it..idk :shycouch:

I think it's doubtful much like concerns over Chinese acquisition over US debt means some sort of economic warfare is imminent. Both sides have far more to lose than gain over armed conflict. As Mindfulness said, cyber "war" is ongoing between the US and China (and Russia, and Iran, and North Korea, and likely second order countries like Belarus and Kazakhstan), but this is the new norm in international relations. Despite the chest-beating of our President, US/Chinese relations are hardly at some nadir. Cooperation on the North Korean problem, the dominance of US technology in their nascent energy industry (it's actually scary how much natural gas they are sitting on, our own renaissance might pale in comparison); both strong pillars in the 'let's not kill each other' stool. Let's say the third is our mutual love of Jackie Chan.

The (economic) ties that bind are strong and the Chinese are a notoriously deliberate people. Short of some Elliott Carver-type plot (Tomorrow Never Dies) to provoke a physical war, I don't see one as likely.

A question for any lurking Sinophiles: do you think China will keep its structure/territory over the next 10-20 years? Or do you see a Soviet-style breakup coming as their market continues to march toward a laissez-faire-lite economy?

I have only heard one good thing Trump has done yet his supporters still think he is the best thing since sliced bread.

I'd imagine he's banging everything he can lay his hands on. Including, probably, that fine daughter of his.

I actually waited a couple of minutes for the video to load because I thought my browser was just running slow.

Well the children didn't get spanked so this is what they grow up and do. All those worthless time outs and groundings.

The pasty cunts need to be drop kicked into skips full of broken glass. Twice if they're male.

So, when are you Americans going to storm the White House and kick the president out?
He's no better than Putin or some other leader of less reputable nations. It's disgraceful to see the supposedly great, free, Democratic nation of the US sink so low. I have no more faith in your government's ability to do the right thing than I do the governments of Russia, China and North Korea. Trump is an aggressive, simple minded monkey with launch codes. How the hell did that happen?
Seeing the president of China advise Trump to take it easy on the rhetoric towards North Korea... Never thought I'd see the day!

And what's with the whole Charlottesville farce? He's an alt-right, white supremacist sympathizer too now? Or rather, it's confirmed now, but he probably always was. People used to insist he wasn't far right. Sure. I seriously hope he gets assassinated. I'm not a US citizen, so the CIA can't touch me for writing that

Frownland 08-14-2017 11:44 AM

Aside from some nasty CIA interventions in all sorts of far away places over the last 100 years, the US did sort of allright as a global vigiliante for a while. Well, kind of. Give or take a few hundred thousand innocent civilian casualties.

Yeah all our black ops CIA prisons are totally foreigner-free. Have fun grabbing the soap with Akhmed.

No US President has been good in my opinion. Trump infuriates me more than any other though because his proofreading skills are non-existent.

He offends you as a grammar Nazi more than as an American?

Wpnfire 08-14-2017 01:36 PM

It has more to do with the fact that he doesn't treat the office, his job, or his responsibilities very seriously.

He treats it seriously while making deals to profit his businesses.

Either that, or he's not very smart.

Chula Vista 08-14-2017 03:15 PM

No, he'$ very $mart.

It's too bad we couldn't find out what he and his family's net worth was on day 1 of his presidency and be able to compare with what they will be worth the day he leaves office.

Did you hear about the pre-dawn raid where the Feds busted into Paul Manafort's house and left with a bunch of boxes?

There's a number of ways that raids can be carried out. Sometimes they are mid day with a knock at the door.

Breaking down a door while the occupants are sleeping is pretty severe. Whatever Mueller showed the Federal judge who authorized the raid had to have been extremely compelling.

The jury is out until Mueller inverstigation is over. He's also requested additional bodies to help with all of the work. I'm assuming there's quite a bit there.

Frownland 08-14-2017 04:20 PM

Or it could be for an entirely different case. This is not even a warm gun, let alone a smoking one.

You're impossible. Mueller is leading the Russian inverstigation. Manafort is Trump's former campaign manager who has direct ties to Russia. A pre-dawn, break the door down raid authorized by a Federal judge.

Yup, could be just about anything.:rofl::rofl:

It's all part of Trump's 5-D underwater chess game.

Frownland 08-14-2017 05:31 PM

The only thing the raid is evidence of is the raid itself. I'm just not willing to make assumptions based on partial evidence. Guess it's a generational thing.

Chula Vista 08-14-2017 09:13 PM

This story has been flying a bit under the radar. Three CEOs from major corporations (Intel, Merck, Underamour) have resigned from the president's councel in the past couple of days.

With past presidents whenever this would happen it would have a negative impact on the company's stock because investors would get nervous as to why.

Intel, Merck, and Underarmour's stock all immediately went up.
