You don't think people work their ass off for companies that exploit them just so they can pay their bills?

The context is dead on. It's his point in support of capitalism.

He makes one really good point on critical thought, and it's that every idea should be thought of as a bad idea until it withstands scrutiny. His approach to the idea of communism wasn't that, though. He didn't scrutinize communism to test the idea, he scrutinized it in support of a different idea he likes better.

That was with in the first 25 minutes of listening and I stopped after that. Figured it'd be more of the same ****.

Let's not even start with the fact that the guy who's made a career scrutinizing Marxism has only read the Communist Manifesto twice. Once when he was 18 and right before he did this 'debate'. Other than that he's never read anything else Marx has written.

That happens sure but as a general rule if you treat your employees well they will be more willing or even eager to do a good job for you. This isnt just a work thing it applies to all human relationships as a general rule. Not sure what your hang up is.

It’s not that dry. I needed to read that and Das Kapital in my twenties to round out my thinking. It’s different today with the Internet but I still say absorb the heavies before it’s too late. I waited too long to read Foucault (and still have so far to go) but yeah you know.
