I know you'll give me **** for pointing this out, but everything you don't have you seem to come up with some rationalization why you shouldn't bother with it.

It's a defense mechanism. I've been there, I'm not trying to shame you. Just maybe try putting yourself out there a bit more and don't take rejection or failure as something to be avoided at all costs. If you never fail or get rejected then you're aiming too low.

My take, jwb, is that you lack the strength to honestly assess your situation as hopeless. You’re currently pretending there’s hope in a fake it till you make it facade but the truth is you’ll never make it. Batlord on the other hand has accepted reality for what it is, painful or not. It may not be helpful for Bat’s mental frame of mind but all your believe in yourself and make something out of yourself is fool’s gold.

My only stance is that I can improve my life. I'm not over here claiming to be the next Steve Jobs. Just that I can make things better for myself.

I can believe DWV's stance as it seems consistent with his personality. You on the other hand are clearly trying to build up your confidence cause you know deep down you're a miserable self destructive **** at heart who will only ever be that. Nah years of depression have blunted my emotions into apathy pretty good. Apathy and cowardice tend to go hand in hand. I'll bet you know that full well. You gotta be pretty dead inside to go around promoting Trump the way you did high as a kite.
