blaming China for Trump's failures is stupid, but ignoring their share of the blame or actively praising them as a model is also stupid. Most of us aren't willing to live in the kind of police state necessary to replicate their approach, and if you think we're in the same boat in terms of civil liberties because a rogue intelligence agent who released state secrets gets similar treatment here to a doctor in China who warns about the danger of an impending pandemic, then I just see that as severely deluded.

I agree with OH that we shouldn't be escalating tensions with China though. That's exactly what is happening though and was happening before Corona. The virus is just fuel on the fire.
